What I have learned about academic language so far is that it is really important to students learning development. Academic language is important when it comes to reading comprehension. Students learn new words, phrases and have a chance to participate in group discussions through academic language. As students progress through school they learn new complex words and are expected to talk in front of a class. It all leads up to success in life as adults we are expected to be able to carry on a conversation or speak in front of others. To me, academic language is the umbrella for ELA in schools. Students need to be able to know how to read, write and pronounce words correctly in order to be successful in school. At this time I do not have any questions about academic language. I am excited to start a new semester with everyone. It is now time to buckle down and work hard. I hopefully will be able to graduate fall 2020. The near seems so far away but I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope everyone had a great Christmas break and happy New Year. A student is unable to be an effective learner without an effective teacher. They go hand in hand. Teachers are to plan a lesson, teach and constantly assess students. The effective teaching cycle is planning, instruction, and assessment. A teacher needs to plan an effective lesson that will support the students learning. The instruction is the learning environment and needs to be engaging. Lastly, the teacher needs to assess students learning, provide feedback and support. As I look back at my action plan from 251 my goal was to successfully write and teach task one through four of edTPA. I feel that after this semester I will learn more to successfully write and teach an edTPA lesson...
